Cold and chilling ...

It has been a cold week and I am really getting the “chills”.  Don’t have a fireplace at home or a heater. Would like the hubby to embrace me while sleeping but It feels like he’s strangling me, so never mind. It has not been this cold in PH for a long while though it will be a blast to experience “snow”, I don’t think I can survive…hehehe.

In Baguio, the place in PH that we go if we want to experience the cold weather has dropped further to Read full story »

sleep to the max ...

Sleeping is the best policy…well atleast on weekends, he,he,he. Getting a good sleep is a bit of an obstacle for me.  As I get older, I am becoming a light sleeper.  I am easily waken-up.  I am tossing and turning most of the time. I guess its time to change my  mattress, it has served me ten years already.  I have to admit it is not that comfortable anymore and its time for retirement. Hope to buy one before Christmas time.

An orthopedic mattress..now! ...

Sometimes back ache hunts me through the night. Well I sit all day in-front of a computer so it will surely give me the ache. Though I would want to lay down the whole day that would be impossible because I make my living being infront of a computer. So I guess the most that I can do is make my sleeping hours more comfortable as it can be.  A mattress designed to give additional back support is what I need.

According to my research, an orthopedic mattress will do the trick. So my next step is to find the cheapest so that I can buy one laready : )

My bed ...

Getting the right sleep is as important as eating the right food.  It is oh so nice to sleep in a heavenly soft bed as if your an angel sleeping on the clouds.   Staying long hours in bed, reading a book or just watching TV are the things that I do to relax,  it is a must for me to have that comfy feeling when I jump-off to bed.

Finding the right mattress to sleep-on is one of the key to get that 8 hours of sleep a joy.  Here are some tips (that I stumbled upon) before buying mattresses:

  • Support – A quality mattress and foundation will gently support your body at all points and keep your spine in the same body position as good standing posture. When selecting a mattress, keep in mind that your body should be able to relax, with your spine supported in its natural curve. Otherwise, your muscles work all night and you’ll wake up stiff and sore. Buy quality!
  • Comfort – Mattresses don’t have to be as hard as a board to be good for you, though some people may prefer a firmer feel. Today’s mattresses are built with luxurious new cushioning materials and surface treatments, creating a feel that is more plush.
  • Durability and Warranty- Durability refers to how long support and comfort will last. Like all products, mattresses and foundations/boxsprings gradually wear out. That’s why you should reevaluate your sleep set annually. The warranty protects you against product defects and workmanship mistakes, not gradual loss of comfort and support.
  • Space – Select a new mattress that gives you enough room for easy, free movement, especially if you’re sleeping with a partner. Couples should select a queen or king-size mattress to ensure that both people have enough space.
  • Matching Sleep Sets- Mismatching sets, putting a new mattress on an old foundation or adding a board between the mattress and foundation can impede comfort and reduce the life of the mattress. Buy a matching mattress and boxspring.
  • Value – Buy quality products made with all new materials. Shopping for the best value, not the lowest price, is often a smart way to shop. The average person spends roughly 1/3 of their life sleeping. So getting a quality sleep set is one of the most important investments you can make.
  • So now you can buy one.
