This an “oh-so-late “post, the adventure happened last January 1, 2011, when the family spent another “New Year’s Day” in Subic. 5 years in-a-row that the last and first day of the year was spent away from home and in the old Subic International Hotel. I’m not fond of the idea of making this a tradition, but who wants to be dubbed as a kill-joy?
So looking for a new way to spend our time in Subic, we went to the “Treetop Adventure”. Before any drastic moves, briefing was the first step. We found out what are the rules and the limitations of kids and adults when it comes to the available activities. The kiddos went trekking, while the oldies got a taste of “height”. Me and the hubby sampled the “Silver Surfer”, then got the adrenaline rush by rappelling down the side of a 60-foot tree like my friend ‘Spidey’.
After 4 hours of travel, we arrived at the Lighthouse Marina Resort in Subic. We checked in past 2pm. This is where we stayed until our event the next day. Lighthouse is one of the best hotel in subic. It is in the beach front area, so it feels much more relaxing seeing the ocean. The staff are friendly and all-smiles upon our entry. There were drinks and fruits as a welcome gift. The room was amazingly cozy. The bathroom was so pretty that the moment I walked-in, I want to go straight to the tub and have my bubble bath. The rooms ranges from 6k – 8k, a bit pricey ( but the room was quite big). Nonetheless, I enjoyed the tub and their breakfast buffet (2 thumbs up!), so it was all worth it after all.
- Not a great shot of the tub..
- Lighthouse pool
- That’s why its called the “Lighthouse”
I go to Subic almost every year, but never seemed to enjoy the beach, it is not that inviting I must say…
