I am so excited to receive my Christmas bonus. Though I want to save-up, Christmas is the season for shopping. I will get sick if I didn’t put shopping to maximum at this time of the year. I have all the reason to shop, so this is the most awaited season to be merry and bright for a shopaholic like myself…hehe.
This time I think I need to have a guide to help me save a few bucks this season. Here are some tips that I collated from the net that can help me survive the inevitable spending and not be broke after Christmas:
1. Set a limit on spending. As hard as it may seem, set a budget. Like each present should only costs 500 pesos, no more, no less.
2. Make your own presents. If you are good in baking or cooking, or any other creative talent that you have, this is a great time to show-off. The effort is priceless.
3. Choose useful presents. I plan to buy a memory foam mattress for my mama to help her sleep better. Buying important stuffs that can help make life easier for the one you love is a wise gift.
4. Gift Wrapping I know some people will go full blasts on gift wrapping and make it like a piece of art. But remember it will just be wripped and thrown away for sure. Much better to just make it simple. Just buy gift bag by the dozen coz this will still be useful after.
5. Share the cost of Christmas. Delegating and having everyone to chip-in for the food and costs of all the expenses will be much more convenient to everyone. Shouldering all the costs can empty your pocket. Just ask nicely and you’ll see that everyone will be willing to share whatever they can.
6. Waste nothing. If food is way too much, share it with the neighbors or go around the streets and give it away. If there are presents that are still lying around after, use it next year..hehe
7. The best gifts can be free. Yes, the best gift will still be the joy and love that you can share with everyone. So this is the time to forget all the misunderstandings, forgive and make amend. Life is happier when your at peace with everyone.
Hope these tips help you one way or the other. Merry Christmas Everyone!

I, once again went on a “road trip” with my sister-in-law Vida, who has the habit of not sticking with the plan. If you are on the adventurous side you might appreciate her knack of just trying everything out. But if you are one that is organized and does not want any surprises, you might as well stay away from her and just find others to be with.
From my past experiences when going on a road trip you might consider these tips:
1. SURF THE INTERNET
If you don’t have any place in mind you might as well surf the net and check out the reviews on that place. There will be available maps on the sites and might as well print out a copy for it will come in handy.
2. PLAN
It wouldn’t hurt if you have a game plan. You should take into consideration everything that you might need. Like for example you should be sure that theres nothing wrong with the vehicle that you will be using. Make sure how many are going with you, so that everyone will still be comfortable and theres still space for baggage.
3. BUDGET
Set a budget and might as well stick with it. Bring light snacks like sandwiches or cookies and drinks, so that when one becomes hungry there will be available food in an instant, and you need not go to a drive-thru or pull-up to eat. Bring some chips, nuts and candies for it will really be a time for munching.
4. BRING ENOUGH CLOTHES
Be sure you have enough clothes to change in, so that you need not buy because it is way too expensive on the resorts and the trouble is theres not much to pick on.
5. BE SURE YOU HAVE…
Sun block–the higher the SPF the better, and having a UVB and UVA+++ is way too much better. Sun glasses–for your eyes. Cap–for your head. Hair brush or Comb.Towel, Shampoo and Conditioner, Soap, Toothpaste and toothbrush–these are most of the time available in the resorts, just too make sure, bring some of it anyway.
